SNO+ detector, full of liquid scintillator
The SNO+ detector is now full of liquid scintillator

At the beginning of April (2021) the SNO+ experiment achieved a major milestone, completing the liquid scintillator detector fill. The acrylic vessel now holds 787 tonnes of liquid scintillator, all of which had to be shipped underground to SNOLAB in rail cars in the mine cage and then purified through a custom built underground scintillator processing plant. Members of the EPAP SNO+ group are now very excited to start analysing the new scintillator data which gives access to a range of low energy neutrino measurements.
